Agents useful for the treatment of various metabolic disorders, such as insulin resistance syndrome, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, fatty liver disease, cachexia, obesity, atherosclerosis and arteriosclerosis are disclosed. Formula (I), wherein n is 1 or 2; m is 0 or 1; q is 0 or 1; t is 0 or 1; R5 is alkyl having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R9 is hydrogen, halo, alkyl having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or alkoxy having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; A is phenyl, unsubstituted or substituted by 1 or 2 groups selected from: halo, alkyl having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, perfluoromethyl, alkoxy having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, and perfluoromethoxy; or cycloalkyl having from 3 to 6 ring carbon atoms wherein the cycloalkyl is unsubstituted or one or two ring carbons are independently mono~substituted by methyl or ethyl; or a 5 or 6 membered heteroaromatic ring having 1 or 2 ring heteroatoms selected from N, S and 0 and the heteroaromatic ring is covalently bound to the remainder of the compound of formula I by a ring carbon; and X is -CH2-, Q is -OR1and R1 is methyl or ethyl; or X is -CH2CR12R13- or - CH2CH(NHAc)-wherein each of R12 and R13is independently hydrogen or methyl, Q is OR1 and R1 is hydrogen or alkyl having from 1 to 7 carbon atoms; or X is -CH2CH2- and Q is NR10R1' wherein one of R10 and R11is hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or hydroxy, and the other is hydrogen. Alternatively, when R1 is hydrogen, the biologically active agent can be a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound of Formula (I).

Dans la formule I, n représente 1 ou 2 ; m représente 0 ou 1 ; q représente 0 ou 1 ; t représente 0 ou 1 ; R?5 ¿représente alkyle présentant entre 1 et 3 atomes de carbone ; R?9 ¿représente hydrogène, halo, alkyle présentant entre 1 et 3 atomes de carbone, ou alcoxy présentant entre 1 et 3 atomes de carbone ; A représente phényle, non substitué ou substitué par 1 ou 2 groupes sélectionnés parmi : halo, alkyle présentant 1 ou 2 atomes de carbone, perfluorométhyle, alcoxy présentant 1 ou 2 atomes de carbone, et perfluorométhoxy ; ou cycloalkyle présentant entre 3 et 6 atomes de carbone cycliques, le cycloalkyle étant non substitué ou un ou deux carbones cycliques étant indépendamment mono-substitués par méthyle ou éthyle ; ou un cycle hétéroaromatique à 5 ou 6 éléments présentant 1 ou 2 hétéroatomes cycliques sélectionnés parmi N, S et 0, le cycle hétéroaromatique étant lié de manière covalente au reste du composé de formule I par un carbone cyclique ; et X représente -CH¿2?-, Q représente -OR?1 ¿et R?1 ¿représente méthyle ou éthyle ; ou X représente -CH¿2?CR?12¿R?13¿- ou - CH¿2?CH(NHAc)-, R?12 ¿et R?13 ¿représentant indépendamment hydrogène ou méthyle, Q représentant OR?1¿ et R?1¿ représentant hydrogène ou alkyle présentant entre 1 et 7 atomes de carbone ; ou X représente -CH¿2?CH¿2?- et Q représente NR?10¿R?11¿, R?10 ¿ou R?11 ¿représentant hydrogène, alkyle présentant entre 1 et 3 atomes de carbone ou hydroxy, l'autre représentant hydrogène. Dans une variante, lorsque R?1¿ représente hydrogène, l'agent biologiquement actif peut être un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable du composé de formule I.
