The invention relates to a compressed air supply system for a utility vehicle, said system comprising a compressor (14) that can be driven by a drive (10) by means of a pneumatic clutch (12), and a valve (18) comprising a magnetic coil for selectively supplying compressed air to a coupling inlet (20) of the clutch. According to said method, when the valve (18) is opened or maintained open, an inrush current flows through the magnetic coil during a first phase, and a holding current weaker than the inrush current flows through the magnetic coil during a second phase, a driver signal generating the holding current being pulsewidth-modulated in the second phase.

L'invention concerne un système d'alimentation en air comprimé pour un véhicule utilitaire, lequel système comprend un compresseur (14), pouvant être entraîné par un entraînement (10) par l'intermédiaire d'un embrayage pneumatique (12), et une vanne (18) pourvue d'une bobine électromagnétique permettant l'apport sélectif d'air comprimé à une entrée de commande (20) de l'embrayage. Selon ladite invention, lors de l'ouverture et du maintien de l'ouverture de la vanne (18), la bobine électromagnétique est traversée, au cours d'une première phase, par un courant d'actionnement et, au cours d'une seconde phase, par un courant de maintien moins intense que le courant d'actionnement, les impulsions d'un signal d'excitation engendrant le courant de maintien étant modulées en durée au cours de la seconde phase.
