A downhole packer for providing a seal in a well bore to allow integrity testing of the well bore. The packer is set by a sleeve moveable on a body of the packer being set down on a formation in the well bore. Movement of the sleeve compresses one or more packing elements. The packer further includes a by--bass channel which allows fluid to pass through the tool as it is run in the well bore, and brushes or scrapers for cleaning the well bore and preparing the location for the packer elements to be contacted upon. L'invention concerne un packer de fond formant une étanchéité dans un trou de forage et permettant d'effectuer un essai d'intégrité dudit trou de forage. Ce packer est fixé par un manchon pouvant être déplacé sur le corps dudit packer placé sur une formation dans ce trou de forage. Le mouvement du manchon comprime un ou plusieurs éléments de garnissage. Ledit packer comprend également un canal de dérivation, permettant au fluide de traverser l'outil lorsque celui-ci est introduit dans le trou de forage, ainsi que des brosses et des racleurs conçus pour nettoyer le trou de forage et préparer l'emplacement des éléments de garnissage destinés à être fixés audit packer.
