A structure and a method to form the structure are provided for an impeller bleed passage of a compressor for a gas turbine engine. The compressor (10) has an impeller assembly (16) which includes an impeller rotor rotatably supported within an annular shroud (30) having an inlet and an outlet. The shroud (30) is made of two separate annular segments (92, 94) which are axially spaced apart. Each of the segments is supported separately and independently in a cantilevered manner, such that a circumferentially continuous, uninterrupted annular slot (96) is formed between the two segments (92, 94) and air passes through the slot without causing a dynamic component to affect the impeller rotor. The width of the slot is adjustable for different engines depending on the requirements of use of a particular engine. The width of the slot is also self-regulating in response to changes in the air pressure within the shroud because of the deformation of the segments. The structure is relatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture.

La présente invention concerne une structure et un procédé de formation de la structure à destination d'un passage de sortir d'air de condenseur de compresseur de moteur à turbine à gaz. Le compresseur (10) comporte un ensemble condenseur (16) qui est pourvu d'un rotor de condenseur supporté rotatif dans un carénage (30) déterminant une entrée et une sortie. Le carénage (30) est fait de deux segments annulaires séparés (92, 94) qui sont axialement écartés l'un de l'autre. Chacun des segments est supporté séparément et indépendamment en porte-à-faux de façon à dégager une fente annulaire (96) à circonférence continue et ininterrompue entre les deux segments (92, 94), l'air passant par la fente sans qu'une composante dynamique ne vienne affecter le rotor de condenseur. La largeur de la fente se règle en fonction de différents moteurs en fonction des besoins d'utilisation d'un moteur particulier. La largeur de la fente se règle également automatiquement en réaction aux variations de pression d'air dans le carénage en raison de la déformation des segments. Cette structure est relativement simple et bon marché à fabriquer.
