ABSTRACT The protective control system for a gas turbine power plant having a pressurized fluidized bed combustor provides check valve means located in the passage supplying compressed air from a compressor to the combustor so as to prevent, upon loss of load or shutdown of the plant, reverse flow of high pressure, high temperature, dirty gaseous fluid from the combustor to the compressor and thereby prevent con- tamination, surging and damage to the compressor. Also a vent means is provided downstream of the combustion gas clean- up system to effect blowdown or depressurization of the com- bustor.
