The invention concerns a method whereby a three-dimensional image is stored (E0) in a computer storage unit in the form of digital data and defined in a three-dimensional geometric space. Two-dimensional images are computed (E1) determining, in the three-dimensional geometric space, the intersections between a plurality of parallel section planes and the three-dimensional image. Holograms are computed (E2) respectively for the two-dimensional images, then sequentially reproduced (E3) on a light spatial modulator illuminated by a coherent light source. Thus a transparent three-dimensional image is restored.
Une image tridimensionnelle est mémorisée (EO) dans une mémoire d'ordinateur sous forme de données numériques et définie dans un espace géométrique à trois dimensions. Des images bidimensionnelles sont calculées (E1) en déterminant, dans l'espace géométrique à trois dimensions, les intersections entre une pluralité de plans de coupe parallèles et l'image tridimensionnelle. Des hologrammes sont calculés (E2) respectivement pour les images bidimensionnelles, puis sont reproduits (E3) de façon séquentielle sur un modulateur spacial de lumière éclairé par une source lumineuse cohérente. Une image en trois dimensions transparente est ainsi restituée.
