ABSTRACT A computer-controlled telephone interface system is disclosed which includes telephone line interface connected to one or more telephone lines for receiving and transmitting audio communications including voice communication on the phone lines, an audio interface for receiving and recognizing incoming spoken audio communications and transmitting outgoing audio communica- tions, phone line balance network connected between the audio interface and the telephone line interface which allows simulta- neous reception of incoming and transmission of outgoing communi- cations and a central processing unit (CPU) to control each of the functions of the telephone interface system. Various peri- pheral devices may also be provided.
