A computer system having an authenticating system for checking whether an optical system is in unauthorized use. In the computer system, computers to which an optical disk can be loaded are connectable to an authorizing server through a network. Each computer has a unique device ID, and each optical has a unique disk ID. The server has a user database in which the device ID of a computer is stored when the computer is used and the disk ID of an optical disk is stored when the optical disk is used. In the database, data on sets of disk IDs and device IDs is stored. When an optical disk is used for the second or later time, disk ID data and device ID data are transmitted to an authenticating server through the network from the computer and the use of the optical disk is authorized.
L'invention concerne un système informatique comprenant un système d'authentification qui permet de vérifier si un système optique est utilisé de manière non autorisée. Dans ce système informatique, les ordinateurs dans lesquels un disque optique peut être chargé, peuvent être connectés avec un serveur d'autorisation par l'intermédiaire du réseau. Chaque ordinateur possède une identification (ID) d'unité unique et chaque dispositif optique possède une ID de disque unique. Le serveur comprend une base de données utilisateur qui met en mémoire l'ID d'unité d'un ordinateur lorsque cet ordinateur est utilisé et l'ID d'un disque optique lors de l'utilisation du disque.
