A method for generating marks when displaying data, such as the results of a query across a database. The method is preferably used in conjunction with a dataset whose fields comprise a plurality of levels. A visual plot is constructed based on a specification. A first level from the plurality of levels is represented by a first component of the visual plot. A second level from the plurality of levels is represented by a second component of the visual plot. The dataset is optionally queried to retrieve data in accordance with the specification. The visual plot is populated with the retrieved data in accordance with the specification.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé permettant la génération de repères lors de l'affichage de données, telles que les résultats d'une interrogation à travers une base de données. Le procédé est utilisé de préférence conjointement avec un ensemble de données dont les champs comportent une pluralité de niveaux. Un schéma visuel est construit en fonction d'une spécification. Un premier niveau parmi la pluralité de niveaux est représenté par une première composante de la courbe visuelle. Un deuxième niveau parmi la pluralité de niveaux est représenté par une deuxième composante du schéma visuel. L'ensemble de données est éventuellement interrogé pour la récupération de données selon la spécification. Le schéma visuel est chargé des données récupérées selon la spécification.
