An improved computer-telephony integrated user console includes a computer (2) system electrically connected to a telephone system (6). The computer- telephony integrated user console further includes an intelligent integrated keyboard (8) which includes at least one programmable display key (24). The intelligent integrated keyboard (8) is electrically connected to the computer system (2). Each display key (24) includes an electrical switch (26) and a programmable electrical display element (28), such as a bit-mapped LCD array. The display (28) is responsive to commands received from the computer system (2) and displays text and/or graphics on the key to indicate a current function assigned to that key. The function of the key is dynamic, and is controlled by a software automation server operating in the computer (2).

L'invention porte sur un pupitre d'abonné ordinateur/téléphone dans lequel le système informatique (2) est relié électriquement au système téléphonique (6). Ledit pupitre comporte en outre un clavier (8) intégré intelligent muni d'au moins une touche d'affichage programmable (24), relié électriquement au système informatique (2). Chacune des touches d'affichage (24) comporte un commutateur électrique (26) et un élément électrique d'affichage programmable (28) par exemple un affichage matriciel à cristaux liquides répondant aux ordres du système informatique (2) et présentant sur la touche des textes ou graphiques indiquant la fonction actuellement assignée à cette touche. Le fonctionnement de la touche est dynamique et commandé par un serveur d'automatisation commandé par logiciel présent dans le système informatique (2).
