A B S T R A C T The subject invention relates to fishing equipment, and more particularly, to a computer-controlled fishing machine. A motor is coupled to a drum on which is stored a length of fishing line. Suitable means drives the motor to thereby rotate the drum and thus control the amount of fishing line extending from it. Provision is also made for storing a selected fishing depth together with means for determining a fishing depth value from the amount of fishing line extending from the drum. Also included is control means for comparing the selected fishing depth and the determined depth for gener- ating a signal to the motor driving means to drive the motor until the determined fishing depth substantially equals the selected fishing depth.
