There is provided a concentrate composition, suitable for foliar application to a plant to elicit a biological activity therein, comprising (a) about 20 % to about 90 % by weight of a plant treatment compound that is an acid having a solubility in deionized water at 25 ~C of less than about 50 g/l and is present predominantly in the acid form, and (b) a surfactant of formula R-O- (CH2CH2O)n-H wherein R is a straight or branched chain aliphatic hydrocarbyl group having about 24 to about 60 carbon atoms and n is an integer having an average value of about 5 to about 100. The weight ratio of the surfactant to the plant treatment compound is about 1:2 to about 1:30. In a particular embodiment, the composition is a liquid suspension concentrate having a continuous aqueous phase and a discontinuous particulate phase comprised predominantly of the plant treatment compound. The plant treatment compound can be a herbicide, for example glyphosate.
L'invention concerne une composition concentrée convenant pour être appliquée sur les feuilles d'une plante en vue de déclencher une activité biologique dans celles-ci. La composition renferme: (a) d'environ 20 % à environ 90 % en poids d'un composé de traitement pour plantes qui est un acide présentant une solubilité dans de l'eau désionisée à 25 ·C inférieure à environ 50 g/l, et qui est présent principalement sous forme d'acide; et (b) un tensioactif représenté par la formule: R-O-(CH¿2?CH¿2?O)¿n?-H, dans laquelle R est un groupe hydrocarbyle aliphatique à chaîne droite ou ramifiée possédant d'environ 24 à environ 60 atomes de carbone, et n est un nombre entier présentant une valeur moyenne d'environ 5 à environ 100. La proportion en poids du tensioactif par rapport au composé de traitement pour plantes est d'environ 1:2 à environ 1:30. Dans un mode de réalisation particulier, la composition est un concentré de suspension liquide présentant une phase aqueuse continue et une phase particulaire discontinue constituée principalement du composé de traitement pour plantes. Le composé de traitement pour plantes peut être un herbicide, par exemple du glyphosate.
