ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Concentrate compositions for use in preparing non- cyanide alkaline aqueous solutions for stripping non-ferrous metals, especially copper, from ferrous metal such as, for example, steel. The concentrate comprises a mixture of a compound of the formula Image wherein R represents a valance bond, ?CH2? wherein x is an integer of 1 to 2, Image wherein y is an integer of 1 to 2, Image and M is a hydrophilic cation, and a water-soluble persulfate.
