ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a novel type of lid to be attached to containers. This lid is formed of plastic and is securably attached to the top of the container by a rim portion extending over the sides of the container. The panel has a line of weakening thereon which may be broken through use of a means attached to the lid which when moved in a direction at right angles to the lid causes the line of weakening to break and the lid to be opened along the line. Access may then be had to the interior of the container.
