A composite reinforcing bar is formed by providing a reinforcing material supply of fiber strands rovings; a resin supply bath, and a puller for pulling the resin-impregnated reinforcing material through the resin bath. The material is wound on a holder, while the resin remains unset, rotated about its axis on a drive system so that the material is wrapped around a plurality of bars at spaced positions around the axis such that the fed length of the body is wrapped from one bar to the next to form bent portions of the body wrapped partly around each bar and straight portions between the bars. Each bar has angularly grooves which are shaped to mold the bent portions to a required bent shape. The holder is indexed along it axis and removed when full for curing the resin on the holder while the body remains wrapped thereon.
Une barre de renfort composite est formée par fourniture de matière de renfort à stratifils de torons de fibres, de bain de fourniture de résine et d'une tireuse pour tirer sur la matière de renfort imprégnée de résine au moyen du bain de résine. La matière est enroulée sur un support, pendant que la résine reste fraîche, tournée sur son axe sur un système d'entraînement, de sorte que la matière soit enroulée autour de multiples barres, à des emplacements espacés autour de l'axe. Ainsi, la longueur alimentée du corps est enroulée d'une barre à la suivante pour former des parties cintrées du corps enroulé partiellement autour de chaque barre et des parties droites entre les barres. Chaque barre présente des rainures orientées et façonnées pour épouser les parties cintrées, selon la forme cintrée requise. Le support est divisé sur son axe et il est enlevé une fois qu'il est rempli pour cuire la résine sur le support pendant que le corps y reste enroulé.
