ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel condensed benzene derivatives having prolyl endopeptidase inhibitory, anti-hypoxic, and anti-amnesic activities are disclosed. The compounds are represented by the following formula (I), Image (I) wherein A represents a methylene, ethylene, or propylene group, B represents a methylene or ethylene group, m denotes an integer of 0-5, X and Y, which may be same or different, individually represent a methylene group or sulfur atom, R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a carboxyl, lower alkyloxycarbonyl, hydroxymethyl, or formyl group, R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, nitro, or amino group, R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and the dotted line may optionally be present. They are useful as a medicine for treating or preventing cerebral circulation disorder, cerebral metabolism disorder, or memory disturbance.
On divulgue de nouveaux dérivés condensés du benzène ayant une activité inhibitrice de la prolyl-endopeptidase, une activité anti-hypoxique et une activité anti-amnésique. Les composés sont représentés par la formule suivante (I), Image (I) où A représente un groupe méthylène, éthylène ou propylène, B représente un groupe méthylène ou éthylène, m est un nombre entier compris entre 0 et 5, X et Y, qui peuvent être identiques ou différents, représentent individuellement un groupe méthylène ou un atome de soufre, R1 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe carboxyle, alkyle inférieur-oxycarbonyle, hydroxyméthyle ou formyle, R2 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe alkyle inférieur, alcoxy inférieur, nitro ou amino, R3 représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle inférieur, et la ligne pointillée peut facultativement être présente. Ces composés sont utiles comme médicament pour traiter ou prévenir les troubles de la circulation cérébrale, les troubles du métabolisme ou les troubles de la mémoire.
