Abstract of the Disclosure An improved conditioning composition for e.g. human hair is formed by admixture of an aqueous emulsion of a polydiorgano- siloxane which is preferably a linear polydimethylsiloxane or polymethylphenylsiloxane, and a quaternary ammonium silane of the general formula (ii) R33SiR4N+(R5)3X- having preferably one aliphatic C8-18 group and 2 aliphatic C1-5 groups linked to the N atom. The composition can be used as a rinse conditioner or may be incorporated in a shampoo composition.
