An improved fluidized bed coking process wherein a heavy hydrocarbonaceous feedstock is introduced into a coker containing a fluidized bed of hot particles in the form of minute droplets of oil. The minute droplets of oil are allowed to react in the fluidized bed for only a short retention time, thereby increasing the desirable liquid yield and decreasing coke and gas formation.

On ne laisse ces minuscules gouttelettes d'huile réagir dans le lit fluidisé que pendant un temps de rétention court, augmentant ainsi le rendement en liquide recherché et diminuant la formation de coke et de gaz.
