ABSTRACT CONDUCTANCE MEASUREMENTS IN ORGANIC SOLVENT A method for quantitative measurement of an acid in a polar organic solvent by adding a sterically hindered base such as diisopropylethylamine, triethylamine or N-methylmorpholine to the solvent and measuring the conductance of the mixture. This method has particular relevance to monitoring the progress of preactivation coupling and deprotection reactions in solid phase peptide synthesis.
