MP0706 A B S T R A C T The invention relates to conductive elements and their preparation. The novel elements comprise a support (prefer- ably a flexible polymeric film support) and randomly distri- buted fibres (e.g. glass fibres) which are partially embed- ded in the support. Solid electrically conductive particles are adherent to the protruding portions of the fibres, forming a conductive layer. Such elements are prepared by applying a dispersion of conductive particles (preferably an aqueous dispersion of carbon particles) to a substrate comprising a support and random fibres partially embedded in the support and partially protruding therefrom, followed by solidifying the dispersion. The elements are particularly useful as heaters. A typical heater is illustrated in the Figure.
