A family of isostructural compounds have been prepared having the general formula A n PB m B in Q2n+m (figure 1). These compounds (figure 1) possess a NaCl lattice type structure (figure 1) as low thermal conductivity and controlled electrical conductivity. Furthermore, the electrical properties can be controlled by varying the values for n and m. These isostructural compounds can be used for semiconductor applications such as detectors, lasers and photovoltaic cells. These compounds also have enhanced thermoelectric properties making them excellent semiconductor materials for fabrication of thermoelectric devices.

L'invention concerne une famille de composés isostructuraux préparés selon la formule générale AnPbmBinQ2n+m. Ces composés possèdent une structure de type maillée Nacl ainsi qu'une faible conductivité thermique et une conductivité électrique contrôlée. En outre, les propriétés électriques peuvent être contrôlées en faisant varier les valeurs de n et m. Ces composés isostructuraux peuvent être utilisés pour des applications de semiconducteurs tels que des détecteurs, des lasers et des cellules photovoltaiques. Ces composés présentent également des propriétés thermoélectriques améliorées, qui en font des excellents matériauxemiconducteurs pour la fabrication de dispositifs thermoélectriques.
