A method of electrically logging subterranean wells using a conductive fluid in which the conductive fluid includes a miscible combination of an oleaginous fluid, a polar organic solvent, and an electrolytic salt. The electrolytic salt or brine of the salt is present in a concentration sufficient to permit the electrical logging of the subterranean well. The medium may further include gelling agent, weight material, surfactant, or corrosion inhibitors. The polar organic solvent may preferably be an oil soluble glycol or glycol ether such as ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, propylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, and the like. The electrolytic salt or brine is preferably a quaternary amine salt having the formula (I), wherein R is an alkyl having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, R' is 2 to 6 carbon atoms alkyl group, B is hydrogen, oxyalkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, A is hydrogen or alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, x+y=1 to 15, z is 0 to 3, and M- is a counter anion; or combinations thereof.
L'invention concerne un procédé de diagraphie électrique de puits souterrains à l'aide d'un fluide conducteur, ledit fluide conducteur comportant une combinaison miscible d'un fluide oléagineux, d'un solvant organique polaire, et d'un sel électrolytique. Le sel électrolytique, ou sa saumure, est présent en concentration suffisante pour permettre la diagraphie électrique du puits souterrain. Ledit milieu peut également comprendre un agent gélifiant, un alourdissant, un tensioactif ou des inhibiteurs de corrosion. Le solvant organique polaire peut être, de préférence, un glycol soluble dans l'huile, ou un éther glycolique, tel que de l'éthylèneglycol, du diéthylèneglycol, du propylèneglycol et analogues. Le sel électrolytique, ou saumure, peut être un sel aminé quaternaire représenté par la formule (I). Dans cette formule, R représente un alkyle possédant 8 à 18 atomes de carbone, R' représente un groupe alkyle possédant 2 à 6 atomes de carbone, B représente hydrogène, oxyalkyle possédant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, ou alkyle possédant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, A représente hydrogène ou alkyle possédant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, x + y = 1 à 15, z est compris entre 0 et 3, et M?-¿ représente un contre-anion, ou des combinaisons de celui-ci.
