A connection is formed to a cable for transmitting power or telemetry data in a down hole environment. The cable includes a conductor, and a tubular metallic impermeable layer around the conductor. The end of the conductor exposing, and the conductor introduced to a bore in a housing. The bore contains an electrical contact which abuts the conductor, the housing sealing against the metallic impermeable layer to isolate the bore of the housing. The cable includes an outer coating, this outer coating being removed to expose the metallic impermeable layer. One cable may introduced to a first bore of the housing, and a second cable is introduced to a second bore of the housing, the conductors of both cables abutting electrical contacts, so that these contacts are electrically connected to one another, the housing sealing against the impermeable metal layer of each cable.
L'invention porte sur un raccord pour câbles électriques transmettant des signaux de puissance ou de télémétrie dans un environnement de fond de puits. Chacun des câbles comprend un conducteur, et une couche métallique imperméable tubulaire disposée autour du conducteur. L'extrémité du conducteur est dénudée, et les câbles sont introduits des alésages pratiqués dans un boîtier. Chaque alésage comporte un contact électrique touchant le conducteur, le boîtier étant en contact étanche avec la couche métallique imperméable pour isoler l'alésage du boîtier. Chacun des câbles comporte une gaine extérieure qu'on ôte pour dénuder la couche métallique imperméable. On introduit un câble dans un premier alésage du boîtier, et un deuxième câble dans le deuxième alésage du boîtier. Les conducteurs des deux câbles touchant les contacts électriques reliés entre eux se trouvent donc raccordés électriquement l'un à l'autre alors que le boîtier entoure hermétiquement leur couche métallique imperméable.
