F-4287-L CONDUITS FOR AND METHOD OF CONDUCTING FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS INTO UNDERGROUND FORMATIONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flow restriction device is inserted into a conduit to decrease the velocity of the liquid flowing downwardly through the conduit, e.g., a flammable liquid flowing into an underground mine. The flow restriction device contains a planar member inserted into the cross-section of a conduit, the planar member containing at least one opening for the passage of liquids and a tube extending vertically from the planar member for the passage of gases or vapors upwardly through the conduit.
