CONFECTION COLLATOR Abstract of the Disclosure A collator for bar-like confection items, including frozen confection items, has a feed conveyor for feeding along the conveyor axis. The confection items are counted and a predetermined number pushed to a close-packed condition at a staging position. The close-packed items are pushed laterally as a layer on to an elevator plate which steps down after each layer, for a predetermined number of layers. The elevator plate then drops to the bottom of the box-maker pocket and is then withdrawn laterally to leave the confection items in the pocket for eventual pushing or otherwise positioning in a box. The elevator plate returns to its original position to restart the cycle.
