A method and apparatus for modifying configuration information used to control an on-board monitor located aboard a locomotive. Under the control of a remote monitoring an diagnostic center, the on-board monitor periodically collects information from the locomotive and transmits it to the remote monitoring and diagnostic center. When it is desired to change some aspect associated with the data collection process (including the period during which the data is collected, the types of data collected, etc.), it is necessary to change the configuration file that controls the on-board monitor. The configuration file is changed at the remote monitoring and diagnostic center and then transmitted to the on-board monitor.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de modifier l'information de configuration utilisée pour commander un appareil de surveillance embarqué à bord d'une locomotive. Sous l'action d'un centre de commande et de diagnostic, l'appareil de surveillance embarqué recueille périodiquement des données depuis la locomotive et transmet ces données au centre de commande et de diagnostic. Pour pouvoir modifier certains aspects associés au processus de collecte (y compris la période de collecte des données proprement dite, les types de données recueillies, etc.), il est nécessaire de modifier le fichier de configuration qui commande l'appareil de surveillance embarqué.
