An assay, reagents and a test kit useful for detecting the presence of anti-HEV antibody which may be present in a test sample. The assay method comprises (a) contacting the test sample with at least one synthetic peptide which specifically binds anti-HEV antibody, for a time and under conditions sufficient to form peptide/antibody complexes; (b) contacting said peptides/antibody complexes with an indicator reagent which comprises a signal generating compound attached to an anti-human antibody, and incubating for a time and under conditions sufficient for peptides/antibody/antibody complexes to form; and (c) detecting a measurable signal to indicate the presence of anti-HEV in the test sample.
Test, réactif et trousse de détection d'un anticorps anti-VHE (virus de l'hépatite E) dans un prélèvement. La méthode consiste: (a) à mettre en contact le prélèvement avec au moins un peptide de synthèse se fixant spécifiquement à l'anticorps anti-VHE pendant un temps et dans des conditions permettant la formation de complexes peptides/anticorps; (b) à mettre en contact lesdits complexes peptides/anticorps avec un réactif marqueur qui comporte un composé générateur de signaux lié à un anticorps antihumain, à laisser incuber pendant un temps et dans des conditions permettant la formation de complexes peptides/anticorps/anticorps; et (c) à détecter un signal mesurable indiquant la présence d'anti-VHE dans le prélèvement.
