A conformable pod and related method of production are provided, wherein the pod defines a soft structure adapted for deformation in response to minimal pressure applied manually, i.e., by contact with some portion of the body, and for retaining a deformed configuration substantially in the absence of continued application of manual pressure. The pod includes a viscous and tacky gel material encased within a closed chamber defined at least in part by a relatively thin and easily deformed outer skin providing minimal deformation resistance. In a preferred form, the encased gel material is a coagulated or partially coagulated gel such as a silicone-based gel material adapted for deformation in response to minimal applied manual pressure, and for substantially pressureless retention of the as-deformed shape, followed by relatively slow return (at least two seconds or more) to an initial nondeformed shape upon manual release of the pod.

L'invention concerne un module conformable et un procédé de fabrication associé. Ledit module définit une structure souple conçue pour se déformer en réponse à une pression minimale exercée manuellement, c'est-à-dire par contact avec une partie quelconque du corps, et pour conserver sensiblement une configuration déformée en l'absence d'une pression manuelle exercée en continu. Ledit module comporte une matière visqueuse et collante de type gel contenue dans une chambre fermée définie au moins partiellement par une membrane extérieure relativement mince et aisément déformée présentant une résistance minimale à la déformation. Dans une forme préférée, la matière type gel enfermée est un gel coagulé ou partiellement coagulé, par exemple un gel à base de silicone conçu pour la déformation en réponse à l'exercice d'une pression minimale, et pour une rétention sensiblement sans pression de la forme après déformation, suivie d'un lent retour (pendant au moins deux secondes) à une forme non déformée initiale après libération manuelle du module.
