An implantable medical device (1) is disclosed having an electrically insulative coating material (7) on a portion of the titanium housing (2). A high definition window (8, 18) is prepared in the coating by pulsed excimer laser radiation ablating an organic coating, such as parylene or a similar polymer, to micromachine a conductive window having sharply defined boundaries or edges.

L'invention concerne un dispositif médical implantable (1), présentant une substance de revêtement électriquement isolante (7) déposée sur une partie du boîtier en titane (2) de ce dispositif. On ménage une fenêtre haute définition (8, 18) sur ce revêtement en appliquant un rayonnement laser excimère pulsé sur un revêtement organique, de manière à procéder à l'ablation de ce dernier, qui peut être constitué de parylène ou de tout autre polymère similaire. On peut ainsi micro-usiner une fenêtre conductrice présentant des contours ou des bords précisément définis.
