The invention relates to a conical screw blender (100) which comprises an inverted cone-shaped vessel (102). The blender also includes a material inlet (104), a material outlet (103), a driven screw (203) housed within the vessel, and at least two non-diffuse gas injection lines (300) attached to the vessel. The conical screw blender of the present invention can be used not only for the mixing of materials, but also for the drying of materials.
