ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A conical tray for a separator has on the surface of its conical portion a plurality of guide plates so arranged that their projection onto a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the tray is a portion of a multi- filar helix. The plates have the height equalling the predetermined spacing between two adjacent trays when assembled into the tray stack of the separator, with the conical part becoming divided into a plurality of indivi- dual channels.
