Apparatus and method are provided, for connecting prime mover driven alternator (102) to circuit (104) that has an existing alternating current. Alternator (102) is connected to circuit (104) when minimum current flows to or from alternator (102). The actual current is measured by controller (142) following connection and the value of this current is used to determine the optimal connection conditions when alternator (102) is next connected. Alternator (102) is disconnected by controller (142) by running down prime mover (103), monitoring the current and stalling prime mover (103) when the current flow is at a minimum.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé de connexion d'un alternateur entraîné par un générateur de force motrice (102) à un circuit (104) alimenté par un courant alternatif existant. L'alternateur (102) est connecté au circuit (104) lorsqu'un minimum de courant circule vers ou depuis l'alternateur (102).
