This invention relates to a connecting device comprising first and second coupling members for connection to a towing and towed vehicle. The coupling members are lockingly engageable for connecting the vehicles in a towing relationship. A power supply conductor is provided for in use supplying power to rear lights of the towing vehicle. A pair of interengageable contacts are provided in the power supply conductor, one contact on each coupling member, the contacts engaging each other when the coupling members lockingly engage each other. A signal transmitter arrangement is provided for transmitting a control signal when power is supplied to a rear light provided on the towing vehicle. A signal receiver arrangement is provided for receiving the control signal and activating at least one rear light of the towed vehicle in accordance with the control signal.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de connexion comprenant un premier et un second élément de couplage conçus pour la connexion avec un véhicule tracteur et un véhicule tracté. Les éléments de couplage sont capables d'un engagement verrouillant permettant de réunir les véhicules en train roulant. L'ensemble comporte un conducteur d'alimentation électrique permettant, pendant l'utilisation, d'alimenter en électricité les feux arrières du véhicule tracteur. Une paire de contacts capables de coopérer entre eux est montée dans le conducteur d'alimentation électrique à raison d'un contact pour chacun des éléments de couplage, les contacts se touchant entre eux lorsque les éléments de couplage sont enclenchés avec verrouillage l'un sur l'autre. Un dispositif producteur d'un signal permet de transmettre un signal de commande dès que le feu arrière du véhicule tracteur est alimenté en électricité. Un dispositif récepteur de signal, monté de façon à recevoir le signal de commande, est capable d'activer l'un au moins des feux arrières du véhicule tracté en fonction du signal de commande.
