ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A connecting device in combination with two insulated single-strand or multi-strand conductors and electrically and mechanically interconnecting the insulated single-strand or multi-strand conductors, the device comprising an electrically conductive connecting member in the shape of a strip having two end parts each provided with an orifice through which extends a central part of the bared end of a respective one of the insulated conductors, the central part interconnecting two parts of the bared end extending respectively longitudinally alongside the two opposed surfaces of the connecting member in opposite directions away from the central part, and two tubular members each of which is at least partly insulating and each of which is slidably mounted on and covers a respective end part of the connecting member, at least one part of each of the bared ends being stressed transversely against the con- necting member so as to establish electrical and mechanical contact therewith.
