DESCRIPTIVE ABSTRACT Connection process between an optical fibre and an optical micro- guide. According to the invention, the microguide comprising on a substrate (26) a structure having two media (28,30) and a core (32) between said media and whose refractive index is higher than those of said media, substantially anisotropic etching takes place of the structure from one end of the microguide, so as to eliminate from said struc- ture a zone allowing the axis of said core as the median line and whose width is at least equal to the external diameter of the fibre (42), etching by the dry process takes place of part of the substrate which is located beneath the thus eliminated zone and over a depth making it possible to bring into coincidence the core of the micro- guide and the core of the fibre, when the latter rests on the bottom of the recess (36) formed in this way in the substrate and the fibre is fixed in said recess. Application to integrated optics. (fig. 8) B 10291.3 PV
