A system for interconnecting a carrier in a vertical vane covering for an architectural opening to a link in a pantograph adapted to move the carriers along the length of the covering comprises a carrier having an upstanding pin with a laterally projecting key adapted to cooperate with an aperture in a link of a pantograph having a main portion and a relatively large recess defining a circumferential shoulder and wherein a keyway between the main portion and the recess defines a channel through which the key of the carrier can pass to releasably and pivotally connect the carrier to the link.
