ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement is provided in a sectional guide pipe for a sheathed cable or for a tube through which a cable can be passed, the guide pipe being constructed of a plurality of pipe sections in which, at the connection points between the pipe sections, the end of a first pipe section is slid into a cup-like, widened end of a second pipe section. The improvement comprises a sheath of a resilient material surrounding the periphery of the inserted end of the first pipe section, and also covering the frontal face of the inserted end of the first pipe section. This eliminates all rattling noises including those caused by axial slippage of the pipe sections against one another.
