The present invention is directed to CTGF fragments comprising at least exon 2 or exon 3 of CTGF and having the ability to induce extracellular matrix synthesis, in particular, collagen synthesis and myofibroblast differentiation. The present invention is further directed to methods using said CTGF fragments to identify compositions which modulate the activity of acid CTGF fragments and to the compositions so identified. The invention also relates to methods of treating CTGF- associated disorders and diseases associated with the overproduction of the extracellular matrix.
La présente invention concerne des fragments du facteur de croissance du tissu conjonctif (CTGF), comprenant au moins l'exon 2 ou l'exon 3 du facteur de croissance du tissu conjonctif et ayant la capacité d'induire la synthèse de la matrice extracellulaire, notamment la synthèse de collagène et la différentiation des myofibroblastes. La présente invention concerne également des méthodes utilisant lesdits fragments CTGF pour identifier des compositions modulant l'activité des fragments CTGF, et les compositions ainsi identifiées. L'invention concerne enfin des méthodes de traitement des troubles associés au CTGF et des maladies associées à la surproduction de matrice extracellulaire.
