ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A coupling connector with metallic contacts wherein the wires or insulated conductors are separately secured. The connector base comprises two half-shells jointed by a hinge. At least one of the half-shell comprises a row of plug- supports, and at least the rear part of each plug-support has a U-shaped cross-section. The other half-shell comprises a row of wire clamping U-shaped groove means of which the longitudinal axis is parallel to the one of said plug-supports, but of which the trans- versal position is at the rear of the plane of the rear faces of the plug-supports. Each U-shaped groove wire clamping means is in the axis of one plug-support when the two half shells are closed one on the other around the hinge. Each of said means is made of a pair of spears which are symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis of said means. The half-shell is provided with a row of holes behind the plug-supports. The spear pairs of the other half-shell is intended to hook to said holes when the two halfshells are closed.
