ABSTRACT What is disclosed is a connector useful in joining pipes to give leakproof connections wherein the connector is spot welded into place over a tap hole in the pipe and a gasket is used which is a gasket which is a metal insert encased in elastomeric rubber. The gasket is useful and is not damaged by the welding used to attach the connector to the pipe.
