A CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY WITH VISUAL, TACTILE AND AUDIBLE INDICATOR ABSTRACT The present invention relates to the field of connector assemblies for electrical conductors, fiber optics, and the like. Prior art connectors have attempted to provide visual, aural, or tactile indications of the mating condition of connector assemblies, but have not incorporated all three indications in a single assembly and the visual indicators have provided only limited viewing angle. The connector assembly of the present invention employs a radially- movable indicator which extends outside of and substantially entirely about the periphery of the connector to provide substan- tially omni-directional visible indication and tactile indication of mating condition. An audible indicating mechanism is also included which provides a self-locking feature for the connector assembly. The indicating means are operatively associated with a coupling member for drawing the connector assembly into mating engagement.
