The present invention provides a connector block for retaining shock tubes in signal transmission relationship with the percussion-actuation end of a detonator. The connector block is configured for facile lateral insertion of shock tubes. In this regard, less insertion force is required to insert the shock tubes into the connector block, thereby reducing the possibility of shock tube damage upon insertion. In addition, the connector block of the present invention provides improved shock tube retention, and reduces the possibility of accidental removal of a shock tube from the connector block.
