ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A connector for the releasable securement of one end of a lifting strap is provided whereby the connector allows strapping to be engaged with a component to be lifted and by its structure allows the strap to have a free unobstructed end so that the strap can be pulled free of the component that was lifted through a minimum of space. The connector of the invention also provides an improved nd simplified structure, which is simple in operation, and which allows a lifting assembly to handle components with substantially one strap length.
