ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved connector assembly is provided for providing sealed and preferably sterile connection between a pair of conduits which each terminate in a hollow, trans- parent housing where some of the wall of each housing comprises a meltable wall portion sealed to the remainder of the housing. The meltable wall portions of each housing are positioned in facing contact with each other and are held in sealed, retentive relationship so that exposure to radiant energy causes them to fuse and open an aperture therethrough. The meltable wall portion extends across the hollow interior of the housing in a generally nonparallel direction relative to the axis of a passage which communicates the housing interior with the end portion of the conduit.
