ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A connector member for use in providing a temporary connection between an elongated fastener shank and a bracket having at least one aperature therethrough. The member comprises an axially elongated body formed from an elastically deformable material. The body has a forward nose portion with an outside diameter sized to frictionally engage the bracket aperature for retention therein. A bore extends axially of the body and is sized to snugly receive and retain the fastener shank therein. A rearward part of the body is provided with an outside diameter which is coaxial with the bore and sized to provide a snug fit in the bore of a tool from which the fastener is explosively fired. The material is of a type which disintegrates when the fastener is fired into a supporting surface.
