ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A connector for interconnecting a pair of insulated electric cables with a peripheral conducting screen and a protective sheath over the screen. The connector includes a body of insulation with tapered ends and with internal and external semiconductive layers. The external semiconductive layer is covered with a conductive material, such as a metal braid or ribbon, which extends beyond the ends of the body and is connected at its ends to the screens of the cables. An insulating protective tube with flanges at its ends, covers most of the body and the conductive material thereon. A pair of tubular caps have a snap e it at one end thereof with the flanges on the protective tube and extend, at their other ends over the respective cable sheaths. Also, a preassembled body for covering the connection between the conductors of a pair of such cables.
