A connector assembly (12) with a connector body (24) molded directly about a captive ball (26) formed on a separate shaft (22), where the shaft (22) and connector (24) are attached to separate bodies which move relative to each other. This assembly retains an essentially zero clearance fit between the ball (26) and the connector (24) so as to prevent rattling between the parts from vibrations. This zero clearance fit is achieved at a much lower cost than comparable quality connectors due to higher diametric tolerances for the ball component (26). Higher diametric tolerances do not affect the final fit because the connector (24) is molded directly about the ball (26).

Ensemble d'articulation (12) constitué d'un corps de joint (24) moulé directement sur une rotule captive (26) formée sur un axe séparé (22), l'axe (22) et le joint (24) étant fixés à des pièces séparées se déplaçant l'une par rapport à l'autre. Cet ensemble maintient un jeu sensiblement nul entre la rotule (26) et le joint (24) de façon à éviter les claquements entre les pièces produits par les vibrations. Cet ajustement à jeu nul est obtenu pour un coût très inférieur à celui des joints de qualité comparable en raison de tolérances diamétrales plus élevées pour la rotule (26).
