A female connector (10) is adapted for electrically interconnecting the conductors (14) of a flat flexible circuit (12) to the conductors of a complementary mating connecting device. The connector (10) includes a female housing (22) having wall portions (22a,22b) defining a cavity (26) for receiving the flexible circuit (12). The wall portions (22a,22b) are relatively movable between an open condition allowing a yieldable backing structure (38,38A) to be assembled on a cavity-side of at least one of the wall portions (22a) and a closed condition defining the cavity (26). The yieldable backing structure (38,38A) resiliently biases the conductors (14) of the flexible circuit (12) received in the cavity (26) against the conductors of the mating connecting device when the connector is mated with the device.

Un connecteur femelle (10) est adapté de façon à interconnecter électriquement les conducteurs (14) d'un circuit flexible plat (12) aux conducteurs d'un dispositif de connexion correspondant complémentaire. Le connecteur (10) comprend un boîtier femelle (22) comportant des parois (22a, 22b) qui délimitent une cavité (26) afin de recevoir le circuit flexible (12). Les parois (22a, 22b) sont relativement mobiles entre une position ouverte, qui permet de monter une structure de soutien amovible (38, 38A) sur le côté cavité d'au moins une des parois (22a), et une position fermée qui délimite la cavité (26).
