Le matériau microporeux se caractérise en ce que les fibres de carbone présentent une distribution des longueurs telle que la longueur moyenne d'au moins 80% des fibres correspond à la longueur moyenne desdites fibres à plus ou moins 20% près. Il s'applique notamment au cas de l'electrolyse du chlorure de sodium.
