A constant contact side bearing assembly configured for insertion into a walled receptacle provided on an upper surface of a railcar bolster. The constant contact side bearing assembly includes a walled housing defining a cavity extending therethrough and open at opposite ends and a spring having a first end, abuttingly engaging a portion of the upper surface of said railcar bolster, and a second end, axially spaced from the first end. A cap is arranged at the second end of the spring. The cap is mounted for reciprocatory guided movements by and relative to the housing, with a generally flat railcar body engaging portion on the cap being positioned relative to the housing and the walled enclosure by the spring. The side bearing assembly further includes an apparatus for locating and securing the side bearing assembly within the walled receptacle on the railcar bolster.
L'invention concerne un ensemble glissoir à contact constant conçu pour être inséré dans un logement entouré d'une paroi, formé sur la surface supérieure d'une traverse de véhicule de chemin de fer. Cet ensemble glissoir à contact constant comprend un corps entouré de parois, et définissant une cavité traversante ouverte aux extrémités opposées et un ressort présentant une première extrémité qui vient s'appuyer contre une partie de la surface supérieure de ladite traverse de véhicule, et une seconde extrémité espacées axialement de la première extrémité. Un siège est placé à la seconde extrémité du ressort. Ce siège est monté de manière à permettre des mouvements alternatifs guidés du logement et relativement à ce dernier, une partie du siège entrant en contact le corps d'un véhicule sensiblement plat, se trouvant dans une position donnée relativement au corps et au logement entouré de parois sous l'action du ressort. Cet ensemble glissoir comprend en outre un dispositif permettant de positionner et de fixer l'ensemble glissoir dans le logement entouré de parois formé sur la traverse de véhicule.
